Join retired national park ranger Mike Malone as he takes you on a visual journey to some of our most spectacular western national parks where John Wayne, Tom Mix, Jimmy Stewart, Clint Eastwood and many more once rode across the screen.

Mary Contini Gordon – March 23 2PM $10pp

Embark on a journey with Mary Contini Gordon, author of Family Oral History Across the World, as she shares fascinating stories based on residents from our local areas, including Native Americans, and from people as far away as Norway to Australia. Mary addresses various approaches to interviewing, researching historical contexts, delving into genealogies, along with photos and artifacts, that spark memories and emotions of family stories. She will save time for questions and discussion.

Richard Foss – April 13 2PM $10pp
Entice your taste buds as you travel back in time to Victorian Southern California with Richard Foss, a culinary historian with two books in print who has been writing about food professionally since 1986. Richard offers audiences a unique perspective on how the discovery of gold, the arrival of railroads and steamships brought imported and luxury items as well as the first convenience foods. Discover what people ate and how it was cooked during this period of extraordinary changes.

Rorie Skei and Lauren Gill – May 4 $10pp
Have you noticed the large overpass on the 101 freeway near Liberty Canyon Road? Have you wondered why it is being built? Rorie Skei, Deputy Director of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy & Lauren Gill, Deputy Director of the California National Wildlife Federation, will present the history of wildlife crossings and how the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing, the largest wildlife corridor in the world, goes beyond conservation and moving towards environmental rejuvenation.
